Chateau Musar Jeune Red Lebanon
Musar Jeune Red is an unoaked blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from youthful Bekaa Valley vines. Meant for current consumption – within a few years of the harvest – this deeply-coloured, vividly fruity style, first produced in 2007, may yet prove to be a ‘keeper’. Inky-dark, silky-textured and aromatic, with blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry jam flavours and a warm, spicy finish, it has been likened to a fine Roussillon red.
The 2018 Musar Jeune Red is a blend of Cinsault, selected from vineyards with varying age of vines (50%), Syrah (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%).
The grapes were fermented in concrete vats with temperatures from 27 to 29 degrees Celsius. It was blended in March 2019 and then rested in concrete vats until being bottled in the summer of 2019. Musar Jeune Red is unfiltered and made according to natural wine-making philosophy.
Food Pairing: Lamb, beef dishes, mature and hard cheeses, Moroccan tagine and spicy Asian dishes.
